Last Saturday I graduated high school with many other of my closest friends. I have been waiting for this day for a while now because although I was not always part of my high school, I was done with it anyway. However after receiving my diploma, I realized just how short life really is. I came to the realization, that although I have already completed a year of college, I finally have my high school diploma. In my mid this indicates myself as a real adult. However, “adult” may be a loose term to be using at this point in my life. I don’t feel like an adult and I certainly don’t act like an adult. However, life will eventually teach me how to be an adult. Through my trials and my errors. Through my experimentation of my values.

Another thing I realized after receiving my diploma is my accountability. I need to be accountable for my own actions and treasure my values. As and adult, I need to hold them up to a higher standard. Especially since I’ll be going to college in just a little over 2 months! Although, I’ll be entering in as a Sophomore. I still have lots to learn about college and this whole adult thing. I’ll be on my own with only God to guide me, which is all I need. My parents have helped along the way, but God has really helped me and shown me a clear and beautiful path for my entire life. I believe being on my own will allow me to rely on God more, which will help me grow in my faith within him and become spiritually mature. Than, just possibly I may be the adult God wants me to be.

Congratulations Class of 2016!
