In this day and age teens and young adults alike are losing their confidence. They don’t think they are attractive enough, smart enough, good enough, or many other things. Many people struggle with self-confidence. I am too a victim of this. I struggle with my self-confidence and struggle within many things that I feel like I am not good enough for, even with things that may be talents. I know many other teens and young adults struggle with self-confidence and it breaks my heart because I know how it feels. It makes you feel low about yourself and it consumes your life by constantly comparing yourself to others. Saying to yourself, “I will never be smart enough do get into his college” or “I am not attractive enough to ever have a relationship.” It also makes yourself think of the world around you in a negative way. I am here to tell you that if you are one who struggles with self-confidence, just know that God created you for a purpose and nothing is by accident. You should not feel ashamed of who you are. Everyone is different, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. It states in Hebrews 10:35-36:
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
God has a plan for you to fulfill his plan and without self-confidence, you will never fulfill his plan because you do not feel like you are “good” enough to carry out his plan for your life. Let me remind you that YOU ARE good enough! Have self-confidence in yourself with things you are passionate about and express your talents God has gave you. Also, have confidence that God will help show you how you can use your talents to glorify his kingdom. It all starts with self-confidence and knowing that YOU ARE good enough!
